The name "ST.JOHN'S" among schools appeared scarcely 45 years back in the cosmopolitan city of more noteworthy Chennai, at that point Madras, in the region of Mandaveli – Mylapore, the customarily, socially and educationally rich range of south Chennai. St.John's had an unassuming starting when it was built up as a Primary school in the year 1968 by The Most Rev. Dr. G. Rajakumar with the motivation of his better half Mrs. Sakunthala Rajakumar who was then filling in as an instructor in a nearby Government helped school. Mrs. Sakunthala Rajakumar and The most Rev. Dr. G. Rajakumar, the author couple who had planted a little sapling in the year 1968 as St.John's Primary School, in a little house at Mandaveli, in the most harmless form, with a solid confidence in God, had a farsighted vision and a fantasy, that this sapling will develop into a Banyan Tree, that this school will be initiated as "St.John's University" one day or the other, in the years to come.
