In this workshop, you will be guided through motifs drawn in this ancient art of Kalamkari that includes fish, peacock, elephant and flowers.
The colors like red, green, white, yellow, browns and orange are popularly used. Creating small holes inside the decorative patterns enhances the attraction of the lampshade. When lit, the translucent leather creates a warm glow and the patterned perforations in the designs make the light sparkle.
Deliberately relaxing, intentionally directing your attention while creating beautiful artwork is an empowering and uplifting experience. This workshop takes your mind off other things – a chance to relax, de-stress, helps in hand eye co-ordination and stimulates creative thought flow. Guided session by Artist Roma Girish, Postgraduate M.Sc., M.Phil in Biotech. Artist by passion, She has explored and taught various forms of art - Decoupage, Mandala, Zendoodling, Acrylic, Glass painting, Alcohol painting to Coffee painting, Resin art to folk arts - Madhubani, Gond, Warli, Kalamkari to name a few. After being Certified as art and craft professional and awarded as Fevicryl Certified Expert in December 2018, she loves to harness the therapeutic power of art and transmit joy through her creative workshops.
You can use the same techniques and concepts learnt in this workshop to create future projects, gifts and much more onto just about any surface including Canvas, Glass, fabric, MDF or wood. No prior knowledge of art required.
