A computer literate in the 21st century is not just someone who knows how to use a computer. A computer literate is someone who knows how to program! More importantly, programming is less about writing code and more about applying logic and reasoning. It's about correctly defining a problem and figuring a way to solve it.
We can't cover the above topics with a one-day workshop for kids (for that matter, even adults struggle). But what we will do is to give kids a sense of what is programming and get them excited about it. This workshop is to give them a glimpse of what programs do and why they're useful.
The workshop is structured on a series of simple exercises, each introducing a specific concept.
Learn what computers can do. Learn why we need computers. Learn to look at basic math from the perspective of programming. Learn some Python programming syntax. Get exposed to some practical computer programs.
