Is Your Child Physically Active ?

How often do you hear your child talk about the fun physical activity that they have taken part in during their school day? Are the teacher's telling you about the amount of time spent on the physical activity by your child?


As we all know School is a child’s second home. Since they spend most of their weekdays time in school it is very important for the school to make children do physical activity. If physical activity is not part of their day to day life they might miss out on physical learning skills.
physical activity is as such very important for children as well as the adults. If it begins at the early age it improves concentration level, keeps them healthy, cardiorespiratory fitness, build strong bones and muscles, control weight, reduce symptoms of anxiety and depression, And reduces the risk for health disease  like -

  • Heart disease
  • Cancer
  • Type 2 diabetes
  • High blood pressure
  • Osteoporosis
  • Obesity


Introducing physical activity at a young age increases the likelihood, your child will continue exercising through adulthood. They will be more likely to continue to maintain a healthy lifestyle because it has been a major part of their daily routine. It is very important to encourage them to do any kind of physical activity ad it effects them even in long run.

Exercise can be of any form, be it walking, cycling, dancing, jogging or playing any sport. The best you can do is motivate them to go down in the apartment and play with other kids, that way they learn new games and even make friends. Communication skills are developed in the process. Playing with others can teach them rules, regulations, discipline, and many more values. For a healthy lifestyle, one must take care of both healthy diet and physical fitness.

  • Make your child do activities according to their age.
  • Setting a schedule for physical activity is very important.
  • Being active as a family is very important, as children learn from elders.
  • Make it fun, so that your child won’t get bored of it.

Summary: Studies recommend that students should spend at least 60 minutes of their time on physical activity on a daily basis, 30 minutes can’t be spared in school and 30 minutes out of school. Teens or little ones should not be inactive for long periods of time. They can be inactive for one or maximum two hours or else no, unless they are sleeping. In school students shouldn’t be kept inactive throughout the day. They should be given some or the other physical activity to do. This generation does not understand the importance of having physical activity, in the world of modern technology, the time given to physical activity has drastically gone down. So here are some basic things one should know to remain fit throughout the life.
